Commercial Description:
This malty lager is deep golden in color and medium in body. The finish holds a bold sweetness that is balanced by a subtele hop flavor and aroma.

Very good! Good malt character, with little hop bite, what you would expect from a Maibock. Surprised at the strength, this is a keeper.

A terrific maibock. Nice sweetness - lightly floral nose. Very smooth with a hint of bitterness and well-restrained alcohol presence. Moderate amber apperance with a thin head. Very nice!

one of ABC’s better beers. had a defining taste that sets it aside from a lot of the others. strong but smooth with an almost sweet taste.

Pint at Gettysburg brewery. Slightly cloudy amber and burnt orange colored body with a regular sized, 1/2 inch head. Crisp and lightly sweet corn and grain scents, leafy as well. Some dried wood and leaves in the flavor too, along with more of the sweet but sharp corn, not overly sweet or sugary, in fact the hops balance this sweetness well, making it crisp and lively. More flavors of honey and toasted grains in the finish... good stuff.

Sweet nutty aroma, beautiful deep red cara munich color, slight chocolate nutty with a pleasant balance of bittering. Moderate body with a well rounded finish.

Had this at the Ortlieb’s brewfest. Pours amber, with a very malty taste. Slightly sour, malt, fruit finish that is crisp and clean. A nice maibock.

Very sweet and fruity, with alcohol bite at the end. I enjoyed it, though wouldn’t want more than one in a while.

Draft pint at the Gettysburg brewpub. Amberish/golden with a thin filmy top. Light malty aroma. The first swig was almost overwhelmingly alcohol-based (first beer kick). As I go and as it warms, it settles down a bit. Sugary, bitter apple and a bit of "funk". A tad bit too dry for today, but a well done bock. (#3010, 7/6/2007)
