Served on draft at the Bier Garden in Asheville, NC. Pours a hazy ruddy copper color with a large head. Good head retention and fair lacing. Aroma is lemony citrus hops with brown sugary malts. Taste is big citrus hops with subtle toffee malts. Medium bodied.

On tap at Nick and Nate’s. The thing came to me looking like a glass of hazy malt syrup. One ugly brew…Very light aroma with a just a touch of caramel. Overall I did not think this was much of a brew. Yeah it’s got some malt but its like raw malt. Yeah its’ got hops but they are harsh and overly earthy and bitter for this brew to handle. There is a bit of a metallic hint and some kind of a fruity note on top of some buttery flavors. Medium body that is overly heavy for what they were going for here. Pass.

Draft at Brewgrass. I think this is classified incorrectly on the site as a brown ale (it was called "Copperhead Amber Ale" at the festival and definitely tasted and looked like an amber). Very pleasant appearance. Dark amber, almost copper with nearly yellow head. Very sweet, coppery, biscuity, and nearly unbearably buttery. Diacetyl? Had some potential and a nice body, but I can’t dig on the butter beer.

On tap at The Bier Garden in Asheville. Deep amber pour with a thin head. Light citrus hop aroma. Nice malt presence with a hint of citrusy hops. Solid.

on tap at The Bier Garden. Pours copper, very cloudy, with minimal head formation. The aroma is slightly lactic sour with hints of biscuits, grass clippings, brown sugar, and nuts. The flavor is not as good. I found it to be an awkward mesh of malt and hop character. My biggest problem was what reminded me of sharp pangs of alcohol and metal. The finish is nutty with hints at rye. The acidity present is some weird, vaguely citrus character. Personally, I did not dig this one. I couldn’t complete my pint glass and had to move on to some Gonzo.

Discovered this at ACE adventure outside Fayetteville, WV. A good find I might add. Pours well, color is nice. Easy on the palate.

this was confusing, they call it amber on the tap, but it is the copperhead brown ale. anyway. pours a copper red with mild head. sweet malty aroma. smooth palate with dry front and aftertaste. sessionable and good.
