Commercial Description:
On draft at the Gettysburg brewery, Summer 2007.
The first in a series of two new specialty beers coming this year! This Kölsch-styled ale is clean, crisp, and delicately balanced. It has very subtle pear flavors and aromas. The subdued maltiness leads to a pleasantly refreshing finish. A fantastic summer brew! The Kölner Dom (Cologne Cathedral), is one of the best-known architectural monuments in Germany and has been Cologne's most famous landmark since its completion in the late 19th century. True Kölsch can only be brewed if the brewery has a view of this famous cathedral, thus its’ appearance on our tap markers.

Draft pint at the Gettysburg brewpub. Awesome name and logo, from an old Koeln guy. If you don’t get it, you shouldn’t be drinking Koelsch. Golden orange with a thin but somewhat gluey head. Virtually no aroma. Crisp, clean and biscuity-malty with a nice flowery flourish to it. Quite reminiscent of the days in Koeln. Nicely done! (#3011, 7/6/2007)

Clear very pale body with a small white head. The nose is honey, bread and herbs. The flavor is honey, herbs, flowers, light pepper and dough. Medium/light body is soft with light carbonation. Probably the best Appalachian beer of the night.

poured dark golden color with a half an inch of head. aroma was very light, maybe a little bit of malt. flavor was matly upfront, some toast and biscuity flavors, and dried out quite a bit as the beer finished. lean-medium bodied. excellent for style.

Poured deep gold with creeamy white head. Nose was grainy pale malt, mild hopcitrus, mild fruit. Tastes crisp, not hefty of palate, with fruity, lemongrassy hopcitric, and bready pale malt flavors, with decent balance. A good example of this style.

On draft at the Gettysburg location a few months ago. Found it pretty good for the style. Not overly exciting but it had some good flavor. Crisp flavor with lots of bread and malt with floral/grass finish.

Had it at Harrisburg on tap. Lighter color and a slightly hoppy aroma. Tastes similar to a pale ale with less hops.

had at the h-burg location. pretty reasonably brew, malty, a bit grassy, but fairly smooth, with a bit of a sour aftertaste.
