opaque orange, wispy white head, drippy lace, sweet banana aroma, creamy body, lots of sweet banana flavor, only a touch of clove for balance, the sweet banana and creamy body make this a very drinkable beer

Not much evidence of wheat---fruity flavor dominates, best described as "bubble-gum-like". Appearance is proper for style, but I would expect a better head from a wheat beer. I couldn’t finish my 5 oz. sample.

I has this on tap at ABC on Cameron St. (2 days and I sound like a local-Troegs is about a five minute drive). I found it pretty refreshing with its spicy mix of focus on banana and orange flavors but it needed more carbonation and didn’t blow me away. Granted, it beats drinking most of the other selections on tap. I needed a tasty beer and this was it.

Draft at Gettysburg brewery. Typical cloudy yellow color but with really no head at all. Nose is completely sweet orange peel and melon and other fruit... sugary too. Flavor is the same, overly sweet orange peel and coriander, which is odd, lightly lactic as well, but overall it’s too sweet and too syrupy. Lacks the necessary wheat and yeast character that defines hefeweizen.

Draft at the Gettysburg location, July 2006. An unclear dark orange beer with a thin white head. The aroma is sweet wheaty combined with notes of oranges. The flavor has a weird metallic wheat note combined with a weird banana note, and with a metallic end. I have a hard time drinking this.

On tap at Gettysburg location, July 2006. Cloudy orange appearance. Very clove and vanilla dominated. Sweet, soft and rather perfumed. Just a bit of a sharp tang at the end. I know this is a quite highly rated hefe, but I guess its just not my thing. Although there’s plenty of flavour I would have preferred more bite and crispness.

Sampled on draft at the State College beer festival this beer poured a cloudy pale yellow color with a small white head. The aroma is bubblegum and light dry wheat. The flavor is strong bubblegum and wheat with a light yeasty middle and a hint of lemon.
