Commercial Description:
This India Pale Ale is an exciting beer with a floral in aroma and an incredible hop flavor. The maltiness is increased (over a regular pale ale) to help balance the aggressive hop usage. This contributes to the higher alcohol content as well.

Had it on draft at he Appalachian Brewery Company’s Harrisburg restaurant. Didn’t set itself apart from any other IPA, but received a high overall mark, because it was on vacation with the family, can’t get any better than that.

Bottle: Light orange-golden with a stubborn top of thin white foam. The aroma is light, fruit salad I’d say. Interesting earthy bitterness intermingles with a fruity undertow. Decent enough malt body supports it all. Good. (#3037, 7/22/2007)

12 oz. bottle from slob, many thanks! Pours a slightly hazed bright orange amber color with a moderate white head that leaves thin lacing. Toasty malts and citrus fruits, floral hops, tangerine and hints of honey in the aroma. Flavor is predominantly hoppy, with an understated malt backbone, floral, citrus and hints of spruce with a bit of the dusty character I often associate with east coast IPA’s. Medium body and gentle carbonation. An pleasant little ale overall.

12oz bottled Dec 2006 from adrian910ss, than you Adrian! Pours a hazy orange with a one finger quickly fading eggshell head. Aroma is pine, grass, earth, and caramel malts--the hops seem to have gone stale. Flavor is much the same with a bit of spicy hops--am I picking up on some smoke somewhere? Moderate bitterness, moderate carbonation with a light to medium body. Would be better fresher, though it is decent as is.

Draft at the Harrisburg brewery. I enjoyed this one more than thought I would. Poured a medium gold with a off-white head. A bit maltier than most IPAs. Well-balanced, floral on the nose, grassy on the palate. Wouldn’t hesitate to get this one again.

Pint at the Gettysburg brewery. Filtered and clear honey amber color. Crisp and sweet honey pine hop flavors, oily and resiny on the tongue. Sweet honey and pine sap nose with some faint stewed grain aroma as well. Clean and simple, some vegetal celery notes in the finish at times, but nothing too big. Average IPA.

Draft at Camp Hill. Pours amber orange with a nice off white head, good lacing. Aroma is of pine and floral hops, but not very aggressive. Flavor of toffee and caramel with a wisp of citrus zest that transitions to a piney and grassy hop bite. A slight hint of smoke on the finish, with faint piney and resiny hoppiness lingering. Not bad, but not a standout in the oversaturated arena of IPA’s

Draft at HDG. Nice light gold color with plenty of carbonation that leads to a full head and tons of lacing. Nice, fresh hoppy aroma. Taste has some citrus like tangerine and orange zest. Theres a bit of sourness in the aftertaste but it’s not that offensive at all. This is a beer that leaves you wanting more for sure, as the finish is crisp and dry. Surprisingly very good.
