| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 19, 2007 Had this on draught at the new Camp Hill location. This appears very light color, and the aroma was also light, with pleasant floral hops and a touch of sweetness. That said, I was pretty impressed with the classic IPA flavor of this brew. Fresh and enjoyable. Ungstrup (15460), Frederiksberg, Denmark
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 3, 2007 Draft at the Gettysburg location, July 2006. A slightly hazy orange beer with a thin beige head. The aroma is sweet with primary notes of caramel, but also light notes of hops. The flavor is sweet with notes of caramel as well as a nice presence of grapefruit and light touches of grass. The grapefruit and grass lingers for a long time in the aftertaste. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Dec 24, 2006 (Bottled 10/2006) It is nice to see that Appalachian is being distributed in Maryland after being out of the market for a couple of years. The IPA is new to MD although, I believe it has been available in PA for few years. A straight forward IPA that is crowd pleaser. The beer is more of an APA, that’s what most IPA purists would have to say. NYHarvey (2154), New York, New York, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 3, 2006 Low key floral hop aroma with mild caramel accents. Light orange/brown in color with a two finger thick, firm but bubbly white head. Light citrus, pine flavor in the forre...spitzy. No intensity, but not weak either. Just kinda lazy, flavor wise. Hoppy flourish in the finish. Not a bad IPA really, but it seems to go a little more in the way of hops than malt...oddly considering overall it is so low key. | 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Nov 1, 2006 Sampled at the brewfest in Adamstown. Pours golden with an average white head. Aroma of floral hops and sweet malts. The flavor is grassy hops and sweet malts. Ok beer. chriso (4852), London, Greater London, England
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Oct 3, 2006 On tap at Gettysburg location, July 2006. Golden colour with a gingery tinge. Another quite restrained effort from Appalachian. The hops are certainly there in the aroma but there’s none of that big resinous, piney nature. Light citric notes. Things follow in a similar vein on the palate, with grapefruit coming through, but, again, quite circumspect. Soft malt backbone. Certainly not a hophead brew but subtlety isn’t always a bad thing. Just falls away a little on the finish.
