On tap @ ABC Harrisburg. Deep brown with a small light brown head. Aroma of caramel, molasses, and roasty grains. Caramel sweet flavor with a touch of bitterness, but the malt is definitely the focus. Medium body with mild carbonation and a slightly watery mouth feel. One of the better beers I had from ABC, but not great.

2005 Bottle at the RB Rochester Gathering, Aug. 30/ 09. Thanks, JB! Deep mahogany in color with a beige head that quickly dissipated. Sweet, malty aroma that is echoed in the mouth. Notes of caramel with a little hop bite. Slightly sweet finish.

Bottle at the RB Rochester Gathering, Sept. 09. Thanks, JB. Orange-amber color. Aroam of caramel, chocolate, and dried fruit. Caramel-sweet malty flavor; a bit too sweet. Decent and full-flavored but lacks great balance.

Bought at Wegman’s State College PA. Great looking amber, hazy, not a lot of head. Malty, smoky nose. More of the same in the palate. Nice mouthfeel, a touch sticky, a bit sweet.

Pours a beige head with legs and abeautiful copper-ruby, clear body. Smells of molasses and malt. Flavor is molasses and a little iodine. Finish is a litttle metallic.

Pours a dark purple brown with foamy tan head. Aroma is of brown sugar, dark fruits, and pine. Flavor dominated by sweet caramel malts, maple syrup, dark cherries, piney woodiness and a slight rummy undertone. Overall, very enjoyable lighter scottish.
