Probabely my favorite session offering from this brewery. I’m not sure what it is, but something in the finish of most Appalacian beers just doesn’t work. Not to mention the weak palate.

No head. Pours an attractive copper color. Tastes of butterscotch malts, but seemed watered down. Ligth body. A bit disappointing.

I have not been too impressed with Appalachian Brewey, but this is one of their better ones. Pours a medium to light brown with tan head. The main taste is carmal and butterscotch malts, there is a slight distracting metallic flavor in the finish.

Dominated by caramel maltiness, this is pretty one-dimensional save for a hint of smokiness and a lingering sweetness. Also some light bitterness in the finish.

This bottled brew bottled in July of an unknown year poured a medium sized head of light brown colored fine to large sized mostly lasting bubbles that left behind a light brown colored transparent softly carbonated body and a good lacing. The aroma was sweet with malty doughy notes. The palate was soft mild malty and on second taste a little tingly. It had a smooth crisp malty sweet flavor.

Bottle. Medium ivory head that diminished, poor lacing, fine-large sized bubbles, transparent, carbonated, and a red hue. Malty, sweet and a subtle scotch aroma. Sweet, malty, caramel, smooth, and thin flavor. I enjoy drinking scottish ales, but this was absolutely disappointing in regards to the flavor. Very weak tasting. Lacks balance. Smooth, watery, thin mouthfeel. Light body.

12 oz. bottle from Appalachian sampler 12-pack. Ruby-colored, little head, little or no lacing. Aroma’s a bit sweet and metallic; the flavor’s a bit better. Not really familiar with "Scottish Ales" -- tastes like a "Brown Ale" to me. A tad on the weak side, but some delicious malts come through. Not bad at all, and certainly wouldn’t mind having another . . .
