Draught. Had this one at the Penn Brew fest 6-4-05. What a nice beer this is! Great caramel - butterscotch flavor and mouthfeel in this one. Great malty flavor that overpower the hops, but that’s ok for this hophead as the flavor is great. Good looking dark amber brew with a buttery sweet nose as well. Another good one from Appalachian!

ABC,s Gettysburg brew pub had a cask of this on tap last week. Malt stood out more than the hops. Also had the regular stuff. It was pretty simple for my taste

Nice head and lacing throughout this beer. The caramel malt flavor is dominant with the hops creeping in the more you drink. This is an easy drinker and will fit the bill for someone looking for real malt flavor in their beer.

On tap at the brewpub. Nice caramel malt to it, but not balanced. It’s too sweet and could use a little more alcohol to thin it out.

Copper/ruby colored, with caramel malt flavor and some malt and fruity aroma. The finish is fairly smooth but lacks complexity and balance.

Unremarkable darker ale... listed as an 80 shilling, but seems somewhat on the weak side

Tap at split Rock ’04. Orange with a tannish head, clear. Malty with a slight sour aroma. Big malty yet flat flavor. Strange. Lousy finish.
