Draft @ Camp Hill. Golden dark amber color, exceptionally clean and clear (filtered). Super sweet sugary plum, maple and wood in the nose, along with some artificial plum flavoring, a little sweet tobacco (think swisher-sweets). Seems more like a maple amber, but I guess that’s a decent description for this whole "Scottish Ale" category. A little too sweet, very plain overall, and still has that ABC oily texture that I don’t like so much.

12 oz bottle. The aroma is roasty malt and caramel. Body is light brown. Taste is sweet, roasty malt with a dry finish.

From a bottle at the Bocktown. Mild woody aroma. Color of lighter iced tea. Barely any carbonation. Woodsy taste with slightly burned french fries and perhaps plain deep fried chicken wings. Weirdly different. Easy to like and very acceptable, well mannered.

Pours a transparent mahogany brown with a spotty-lacing off-white head. Aroma of semi-sweet toasty dark caramel malts with a touch of peat and light fruits. Body is a little thinner with some mild sweetness and a touch of lemony tartness before a slightly drier toasty finish. A decent and fairly true to style Scottish ale.

A nice scottish ale. Aroma of sweet caramel malt. Pour was a nice amber with a pillowy off white head. Taste was very malty. Caramel malt and toffee in the front with just a hint of hoppy bitterness in the aftertaste. Nice carbonation to round it out.

Tap...pours a brownish amber with an average creamy off white head. Aroma of toffee, toasted malt, caramel, bready...flavor about the same.

On tap at Gettysburg. Pours dark amber with an off-white head. Nose is of light malt and toffee. Flavor is also heavy on the malt with some light hop notes. Very straightforward ale with a medium refreshing mouthfeel.
