This flavorful sweet ale has a smooth malt finish balanced against a light hop flavor. This beer is very quaffable and has become a brewpub favorite throughout the United States.

On tap at Gettysburg. Pours dark amber with an off-white head. Nose is of light malt and toffee. Flavor is also heavy on the malt with some light hop notes. Very straightforward ale with a medium refreshing mouthfeel.

The best thing I have had from Appalachian Brewing. The commercial description of the flavor is accurate. There are better Scottish ales out there, but this is very nice for the price.

Pours a nice red color with slight carbonation. Nice sweet caramel taste with a good aftertaste. This is probably my favorite ABC beer so far.

pours dark amber with ruby highlights, and about a quarter on an inch of head that remains as a film. transparent with moderate cabonation. aroma is slighty bready with touches of carmel. Flavor is much of the same accept the carmel flavor doesn’t have a good aftertaste. medium finish, medium body. not impressive

Bottle. Pour is a nice brown witha two finger head of dense, tan foam. Aromas are of malt, earth and peat and has a fairly sweet nature. Flavor is a watery mixture of the elements that I picked up on in the nose, but the peat finish is nice.

Pint Glass. Deep mahogany in color with a beige head that quickly dissipated leaving no residual lace. Sweet, malty nose that is echoed in the mouth. Notes of caramel with a little hop bite. Slightly sweet finish.

Bottle. Pours mahogany with beige head. The aroma is light and toasty with some caramel and pine notes. The flavor is the same-- toast, caramel, ever so slight pine. It finishes pretty clean. Nothing special, but a refreshing brew.

A darker beer, sorta bronze, with a darker aroma and slight hop smell. Taste was of a darker beer with only slight bitterness.
