Draft at the Gettysburg location, July 2006. A dark amber beer with a thin beige head. The aroma is sweet with light notes fo alcohol and caramel. The flavor is sweet with light notes of caramel and berries, leading to a dry end, that also has light notes of metal and alcohol.

This dark amber hued 80/- has some biscuity and toasty flavours amid the requisite caramelly and crystal maltiness.

This beer rocks! It's crystal clear with a beautiful copper hue. Small, fizzy, khaki-colored head which is fully diminishing and leaves no lacing. The aroma is extremely rich with huge notes of English milk chocolate, butter, caramel and English toffee. Toasted cashews arise in the nose as an afterthought. The flavor is very rich and malty up front. It's like drinking a fizzy, liquid Cadbury's Caramello bar. Balanced perfectly on the backside via a very nice hop addition. Lightly medium-bodied with a creamy yet fizzy mouthfeel. Very lengthy, crisp & clean finish with lingering notes of chocolate and clover. Rose pedals at the very wee end... strange, but true. Interesting and tasty Scottish Ale! World Class beer and one of my favorites. Highly recommended for MaltHeads!!!

Pours a transparent mahogany brown with a spotty-lacing off-white head. Aroma of semi-sweet toasty dark caramel malts with a touch of peat and light fruits. Body is a little thinner with some mild sweetness and a touch of lemony tartness before a slightly drier toasty finish. A decent and fairly true to style Scottish ale.

Bottle from kramer17801. Pours ruby red with a tan dissipating head. Smells citrussy with some yogurt and an overwhelming metallic aroma. Tastes citrussy with tarte notes and some nuttiness thrown in. Some wet dog elements on the finish. Doesn’t even resemble a scotch ale.
