roder60 (1019), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 3, 2009 Had on tap at the Gettysburg location. Pours a clear dark brown amber color with minimal offwhite bubbly head. Aroma is sweet caramel and slight dark fruits. Flavor is very sweet and malty with some fruit presence and slightly dry bitter finish, but not much. Overall, decent but not great. gsmitty80 (628), Washington DC, USA Sep 8, 2009 This was a good Oktoberfest. Good malting and mouthfeel. Best beer that I had all night at the brewery. It was also the freshest batch brewed. machfive55 (218), Columbia, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 28, 2009 Poured a dark amber with little head, on draft at the brewery. Fairly malty beer with little hop presence, clean and pleasant malt character. Nice malty brew that is perfect for a fall day. DerBiermeister (504), Birmingham, Alabama, USA Jul 1, 2009 Aroma is slightly reminiscent of a Flemish sour ale, as is the taste. Deliciously even, moderately complex palate. Really a great beer overall. ScottyP (314), Brentwood, Tennessee, USA Apr 21, 2009 Pours a hazy dark amber, almost tea like. Caramel malt aroma, some fruit notes. Roasted malt, caramel taste. No great finish to speak of, and kind of watery. Meh, okay lager lumpsowers (235), Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, USA Apr 12, 2009 Dark copper pour, big dense head, with nice lace. Sweet fruit aroma. Thin mouthfeel with low carb, and a phlegmy bready sweetness. Finishes with a raisin fruity after. A Bit of sourness and candy sweetness. Not bad, maybe a tad old.
BelgianBeerGal (1275), Sabbatical in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA Apr 10, 2009 Bottle in Nashville. Cloudy brown pour with a thin off-white head. Big aroma of caramel malt and sulphury molassas. Slightly tart flavour with the malt notes. Touch of bitterness in the finish. Nice overall. Butters (1622), Virginia, USA Mar 10, 2009 Tasted at woody’s. Pours a dark amber with reddish highlights. Nice and malty nose and body. A little on the sweet side. Caramel flavors pervade. Decent for style I suppose.
