emerica56 (479), Bristol, Rhode Island, USA May 18, 2007 This beer has a dark color to it with head that is thick and has decent sized bubbles. There is a sweet smell of chocolate malt and mild hops. As you drink it you taste the chocolate and coffee with some intence hops. there is also a bitter taste that sticks around in your mouth for a while after you drink it.
nqualls (422), Tennessee, USA Sep 11, 2008 Bottle. Poured a clear amber color with a two finger off white head. Aroma of malt. Flavor was pretty much all malt. Decent beer, but I’ve had better within the style. f351c4v (225), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 2, 2008 Cask @ Camp Hill. Pours a clear orange-brown color with a nice tan head. Malty aroma, bready malt body. Average. webjedi (247), Silver Spring, Maryland, USA May 18, 2008 (abbreviated review, due to short notes) Very buttery and slightly nutty on the mouth. A little vinegary. jjpm74 (3087), Stratford, CT 06614, Connecticut, USA May 4, 2008 Bottle courtesy of illinismitty. Pours reddish copper with a thin white head. Smells vegetal with some tea hints. Tastes lightly tarte with a cherry like finish. illinismitty (1449), Nashville, Tennessee, USA Apr 23, 2008 Bottle from Frugal McDugal in Nashville, TN. Pours deep amber with a light beige head. Aroma of sweet malts, bread, and roasted malts. Medium bodied and slightly thin texture wise. Flavor of caramel, toasted grains, berries, and some slight brown sugar. Bitterness is a bit muted on this one, but there is enough to keep it from getting off balance. Finish is sweet and slightly spicy, a slight lingering stickiness. Not too bad. I would prefer a bit more hops if I had it my way.
