Sep 25, 2006 Black with a reddish tint, thin tan head. Surprisingly fruity aroma, with some notes of coffee. Coffe flavors dominate. Disappointly thin palate threatens to sabotage the entire experience. Crisp, woodsy finish. sampled at Asheville Brewgrass, 2006.

Jan 3, 2005 On tap at Barley’s taphouse in Asheville, NC. Black beer with a brown head that does not last. Smells fruity. Tastes like apple. No roasted flavor. Smooth drink with diacyl perhaps? Is this fermented with lager yeast? There seems to be a wild yeast strain in there if not.

Oct 30, 2004 Very nice dark brown brew. Has a nice tan head with a smooth flavor and after taste. Had this at the Brewgrass festival.
