The Dortmunder-Export style of beer was developed in Westfalen, Germany, and is a classic light lager with great character. This style boasts a light golden blonde color and exhibits a moderate hop palate. The finish of our Mountain Lager is rich yet mellow.

Bottle at the Bocktown. Tart almost sour aroma. Ubiquitous appearance, pale yellow clear beer. Decent creamy fizz for carbonation. Hay and grassy background. An enjoyable brew, friendly. Could make a nice session!

A drinkable helles which is saying a lot for me. Aroma was corn and light malt. Pour was a bubbly medium gold with a nice one finger white heda. Taste was nice for a helles. A distinct light malt in the front with a very weak but detectable hoppiness in the aftertaste. Don’t care for the style, but not bad for what it is.

Lager on tap at ABC. Pours caramel gold clear, thin white head. Not much of an aroma for me. Doughy feel, thin hops, good taste on the pallet. Light grain hopi after but pretty mellow.

Tap...pours a translucent golden with a small bubbly white head. Aroma of corn, grass and some caramel. Flavors of the same...some light hop flavor.

Actually, a bit better than I expected. The evidence of malt and the mild hops mixed well to create a nice, drinkable brew.

I’m not a fan of the the style as done here. Appalachian seems to have a good handle on their own flavors though and their commercial descriptions can be depended on to be accurate.

Bottle poured in a pint glass. Little to no white head. Almost flat. Very little aroma. Bit of a sour smell. Biscuit like flavor, with sweet finish. No hops at all. Not a fan. Not sure I really want to finish it.
