Commercial Description:
Our light copper pale ale has a delicate malt attribute balanced by an aggressive hop flavor and aroma. Many American micros have developed their own version of this classic English style beer. Our brewers anticipate that you will enjoy their variation.

Pale yellow-orange with head that dissapears fast.No aroma to speak of. Tastes of yeast and maybe a little malt, but that’s it.Watery palate/mouthfeel.Still not impressed with Appalachian. They have yet to make a semi-decent brew.

12 oz. bottle -- part of a sampler 12-pack from this brewery. Clear, orangy pour with quickly-dissipating head and odd lacing. Aroma is light, but sweet and candyish. Nice malty undertones, but the brew overall is too light and watery to make a good APA.

The brewery touts its Purist Pale Ale as having "aggressive hop flavor and aroma," but I was unable to detect anything "aggressive" about it. Makes a Bass Ale seem sturdy in comparison.

An inoffensive but, ultimately, unsatisfying brew.

I could not finish this beer and that is something rare for a college student. The smell is of yeast and that is about it. Not a lot of hop taste, it tasted like yeast again.

On tap at the brewpub. It really tasted oxydized; maybe it was an old keg. It was not enjoyable, and even outside of the cardboard, didn’t offer me anything to remember.

Gold pour with some hopcit aromas. Not especially complex or notable for a pale.

Yet another unremarkable beer from this brewer... hop bitterness did not blend well, seemed overly "woody" instead of floral or citric

On tap at the 2004 Kennett Square BF. Poured a cloudy, medium amber color. Nothing to prominent in the tastes or smells. Not bad but nothing that really stood out. 5 4 5 3 12

Cask version tasted on 5/19/06. Much better than my last sample. Aromas of pine, citurs and caramel. Tastes of caramel with very light citrus. 7 4 6 4 14
