| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 1, 2006 12 oz bottle. Pours a clear dark gold colored body under a one finger beige head with decent retention. Aroma is fairly simple, but a nice citrusy hoppiness stands out clearly. A bit floral as well, with minimal caramel malt. Flavor is fairly hoppy up front with minimal bitterness and a soft bready malt base. Finishes rather short and citrusy. Mouthfeel is light to medium bodied with moderate fizzy carbonation. Texture is fairly thin up front but finishes with a light stickiness. Overall, a decent, albeit simple, APA that makes for a fine drinker. Beerdedone (1885), Croydon, Pennsylvania, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Oct 3, 2006 On tap at Gettysburg location, July 2006. Pale copper colour. I don’t know about "aggressive hop flavour" - this seemed rather conservatively hopped for an APA. Does that make it a bad beer? Not a bit of it. The words "delicate" and "subtle" do not often find their way into my reviews of American beers but they are certainly appropriate in this case. I see the commercial description also uses the word "delicate" and refers to it as an English style ale. Perhaps it should categorised as an English Pale Ale (US style). Whilst the hopping might be subtle, that doesn’t mean this is a weedy or weak offering. There’s a light malt backing, some dry bitterness on the finish and some flowery notes lingering in the aftertaste. Understated it may be, but its nicely balanced and likeable.

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 20, 2006 This was their cask conditioned offering when we were there recently. Pours a deep gold color with a thick 1/2" head which faded quickly to a light wisp. Pleasant hoppy aromas of Juicy Fruit gum, grapefruit, orange rind and some faint floral notes. Mouthfeel seemed too flat and undercarbonated. In addition, there was no perceptible chill on this ale at all. Seemed room temp which was too warm. Would have been more enjoyable served in the cellar temp range around 55* or so. Taste started sweet with caramel malt flavors, but soon the crisp, mildly bitter and citrusy hops intervened. Overall however the flavors were too tame and unsatisfying. Very average and one dimensional.
