Commercial Description:
Volks Weizenbock combines the strong malty component of a bock bier with the tangy, spiciness of the Hefe Weizen. This beer is brewed 1 1/2 times stronger than our Hefe Weizen and is aged commensurately longer for extra smoothness! Volks Weizenbock is "The Peoples Beer"!

Draft at the Grey Lodge In Philly. Ok beer. A little too much malt for me. Besides that nothing really wrong.

Pours a cloudy light brown with a small white head. Aroma of fresh banana nut loaf. Standard hefeweizen body, with a certain sweetness. Not bad...

Draft at the Gettysburg brewpub. Happy Birthday, honey! Ruddy red with a thin creamy off-white head. Lightly yeasty aroma which is a bit better pronounced in the first sip. Tad tangy with a twinkle of clovey spices and a sweet bready finish. (#3288, 1/11/2008)

Draft pint at Appalachain in Harrisburg. Poured from the tap a very cloudy (muddy) brown with little to no head. Heavy on the candied banana, sharp alcohol, sharply astringent malts and soggy bread and toast notes up front, with a similar smell. The body on this completely falls apart over the middle, and it finishes with more simple candied banana flavors and a strikingly astringent grain husk note. The alcohol is far too apparent for something of this weight, and overall it’s just unappealing in all respects.

On draft at Capones. Pours a translucent copper with a decent size off-white head. Aroma of caramel malts. The flavor is slightly sweet, caramel, not anything like a weizen bock should be for me. thin body, and weak.

Amber body with a thick, frothy off-white head. Aroma of bubble gum, light caramel, and cake. Lots of yeasty esters, some doughiness, plus honey, vanilla, and latex tones. Not bad after it sits a little.
