[1617-20080817] Bottle. Mild floral sweet aroma. Clear, pale yellow white body with lots of bubbles and no head. "Wild yeast" sweet flavour has dry honey flower, a bit of apple and mild wood notes. Bubbly light-medium body. Simple fresh apples.

2008-08-17. Very pale yellow, headless body. Sweet light aroma, light florals, muted apples if I look hard. Flavour is pure Macintosh up front, well rounded. Sweet in the finish, kissed by tart apples. (7+) Smooth average palate. A bit less assertive than the Madrigal but more drinkable in its simplicity. Am regretting not having bought some to bring home in hindsight. Bottle, Sampled at the winery

Bottle from my secret santa. Kind of squeeky honey apple aroma, a bit floral. Very pale pour. A touch of spritz in the flavor is nice but this is pretty dull as a mead. Thin and lacking a distinct flavor. Certainly not bad, just very dull.

750 ml bottle pours a decidedly pale straw with a very tiny bubbled fizz that lasts only a few seconds. Like a vino verde. The aroma is honey and apples with a floral component and a bit of a sour grape that balances the initial blast of apple. Tastes of floral sweet honey, with apples next in line. The apples are sweet at first, then quickly become tart and crisp. This is a very fresh tasting beverage. It finishes tart, sweet, crisp, tight and very quenching. An interesting cross style, though if I had been blind folded, I would have guessed this as a cider.

750 ml bottle corked and caged. pours very pale yellowish/green with a fizzy forced carbed look to it. really doesnt look appealing until you give it a nice swish in the snifter and see the legs. man these applewoods sure have lovely legs on them. aromas are tart apple, and apple pie spice, also very sweet and inviting to the nose. flavours are apple and honey with a touch of spice as well. this ia a well made and drinkable product that is somewhere between a cider and a meade. the apple and honey play well off each other but neither one wants to take the lead in this dance. its almost as if they are still young and akward enough that if anyone jumps out to take charge the other may run away snickering. to sum up this is a very nice summer beverage and i encourage continued patronage of Applewood Farm Winery, to put it bluntly "they make good shit!"

750ml bottle. Plastic cork didn’t pop like I expected. Clear pale yellow with white head that quickly disappears. Light honey apple aroma. Bubbly at first then flattens to a smooth delicate sweet honey apple taste.

Bottle (750ml - green, corked & caged). Incredibly pale light yellow, small initial fizzy white head, quickly diminishing - decent continuous bubbling. Light sweet aroma, buttery honey, clover and sweet ripe apple (I’d say winesap, but I guess Mac). The taste is extremely delicate - you don’t want to raise your voice around this for fear of it shattering - but much like the aroma - honey, light white wine, sweet apple, clover. Light body, no acidity at all, just a crisp sweet hit of honey and apple, quickly fading - very drinkable - a refreshing summer treat.
