motelpogo (4124), Plzen, Czech Republic Jul 17, 2008 on tap at the aqula beer cafe in akita. i was given a beer menu in english which described this as a dunkel weizen, although it was no darker than most standard bavarian hefes. anyways, a rich aroma of banana, hambone and vanilla essence. pleasantly firm texture with some alcohol showing, which i usually like in weizens. heady and warming with some pleasant salty sourness in the finish
MartinT (4458), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Jul 26, 2007 My Bottom Line:
Banana esters, earthy yeast and grassy hops whip up an eccentric Weizen profile which winds up being quite personable.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A frothy head of foam is absorbed by the foggy beige.
-The large bubles and well-fed maltiness produce a cushiony mouthfeel.
-At first, the nose’s esters and phenols were offputting (sign of fatigue?), but it all worked out well in the end.
-Yet another drinkable product from Aqula.
