Papsoe (11030), Frederiksberg, Denmark Oct 25, 2008 (Bottle 50 cl) Slightly hazy amber golden with an off-white head. Lightly sweet aroma of roasted malt. Medium body with sweetish roasted malt and a little burned caramel. Rather vague tartness and a very subdued bitterness. 200908 Ungstrup (11555), Frederiksberg, Denmark Sep 28, 2008 Bottled at Stockholm Beer Festival 2008. A murky brown beer with a tan head. The aroma has notes of oxidation, malt, and caramel. The flavor is a combination sweetness and acidity with notes of caramel, leading to a dry bitter and bready finish. Get rid of the acidity, then it will work. KimJohansen (4299), Copenhagen V, Denmark Sep 20, 2008 Cloudy amber with with large beige head. Sweet aroma with roasted malt, caramel an ripe fruits. Sweet flavour with roasted malt, caramel and ripe fruits. oh6gdx (6413), Vaasa, Finland Jul 14, 2008 Bottled. Amber colour, small off-white head. Aroma is malts, some wood and fruits along with some semi-roasted notes. Flavour is wood, grass, mild licorice, big time roasted malts with some sour notes. A rather different kind of bock, but still nice. sayravai (3208), Helsinki, Finland Jul 12, 2008 (Bottled) Dark brown with a small head. Slightly sour, very malty aroma with licorice. Sourish-salty, roasted-malty flavor with medium bitterness. Medium-bodied, low-carbonated palate. Slightly thinner than a doppelbock, but that was to be expected. Quite nice.
