Commercial Description:
This traditional Hefeweizen is light bodied, gold and cloudy in appearance, with banana and clove in the nose. A clean citrus finish makes this the perfect spring/summer time beer.

Poured light amber with minimal head. Had a very slight haze to it. Smelled slightly of bananas and maybe a hint of wheat. Tasted of wheat, clove, and banana. It had a medium body and only slightly bubbly. It was a very drinkable beer, hefeweisezens just aren’t my style.

Mild. Drinkable. Wheaty flavor, a little fruity. Nothing spectacular. Mellow, a little spice.

[603-20070909] Tap @ Cole’s (Buffalo, NY). Light pineapple lychee hops aroma with a little grass. Hazy, orange brown body with a quick foamy white head. Pineapple grassy hops continues in flavour with some fruity yeast. Light-medium body, a little astringent. Interesting, though not particularly blissful.

I’m assuming my buddy, Frankenkitty, had a fresher sample on tap than my bottled version because this sample sucked big time. Hugely annoying sout/’tart notes throughout, indicating to me a big problem with the bottling line. I’ll rerate if I can ever get to the brewery.

Draft @ Coles in Buffalo. Orangey pastel body with not much head. Touch of white lacing on the glass. Muted moderately yeasty aroma, the usual banana and cloves are there but muddied and muted. Light citrusy notes to a yeasty flavour, with moderate bitterness, sweet malty middle. Average palate is a touch under carbonated.

tap at brewpub - Pours hazy yellow with a thin head. The aroma has a little citrus and some quite noticeable spiciness that put me in mind of nutmeg. The flavor is light and citrusy. Carbonation is light and it has a clean finish. Not bad.
