Commercial Description:
Gorgeous copper-orange ale. Rich, enticing aroma of oranges and lemongrass. Crisp and refreshing on the palate. A perfect blend of malt, spice and sweet & zesty hints of citrus. Nestled between beer-loving Germany and wine-loving France, for centuries Belgium has produced some of the most interesting, complex, sophisticated, and delicious styles the beer world has to offer. Brasserie Blonde pays homage to this grand tradition. We brew the Blonde with a unique blend of rich malts, sweet orange peel, spicy hops, and zesty coriander. The result is a medium-bodied ale bursting with flavor. This is truly a beer-lover’s champagne (or a champagne-lover’s beer!). It is a dry, slightly tart ale subtly spiced with orange peel and coriander for a zesty taste with hints of sweet and tangy citrus.

Sour orange/tangerine. Tastes like a mouthful of nickels. Coriander and orange peel.

Bottle. Murky tangerine puree body with abundant sediment, thin off-white head. Potent aroma of fermented fruits and rancid butter. Thin, bready body with butter and sour, funky fruits, perhaps oranges. Very strange; equally offensive and intriguing.

Super bland! No aroma, or taste---and flat. Not a Sparkling Ale as claimed on the label. Worst of the Arbor brews that I have tried.

(Bottle) Pours a golden color with a pillow-like head. Very light body. Bland, with a mix of mild malts. Little in the way of hops. Average carbonation. Drinkable, but this beer is definitely sub par.

On tap at the brewpub. Aroma a skanky clouded spice mangle, with frothy soap and tangy barn. It doesn’t really have a sense of infection, just bad ingredients, bad spicing and bad brewing. Pours a deep amber (blond?) with no carb and no head. Flavor is a scary acidic body, with flagrant cold cool weird malt. Heavily goaty, barnyardy, and curdled spice. Why am I rating this so high? It can’t possibly even be in the style realm. So maybe it is infected. Whatever it’s terrible as it carries a reeking aftertaste of clammy fire and old dill spice. Unique in many horrible ways.

Another tap/bottle rating. My sample was just Brasserie Blonde. In the bar the description for this was sort of wit-like with the spices. Tap; Fairly unassuming, limited aroma and taste. Cant find the spices, tart. Did not care for it. Bottle: A Hawaiian island volcano or the old vinegar/baking soda experiment. The foam never stopped coming out of the bottle. Whatever rating I had for this beer got washed away with the foam.

Bottle as part of A.B.C. sample pack. Tan appearance with minimal head, and some sediments noticeably floating around. Taste is overpowered by a coppery acidic bitterness that really caught me off guard. This tastes nothing like any other beer I’ve ever had, and in this case that’s not a good thing.

Pours a murky deep amber color; too too dark for a proper wit. Head fluffs up quickly but dies just as soon. No lacing. "Sparkling"? Aromas are buttery slick with diacetyl. Some dusting of spice on top of buttered popcorn. Yuck. Flavors are buttery as well, along with the complimentary feel of metal. I’m done. Drain pour. Could it REALLY be my worst beer yet?....
