Commercial Description:
Brewed with bitter orange peel and coriander then aged in an oak barrel that has been innoculated with our favorite Belgian lambic (Hansens); bottle-conditioned in 750s and aged in the bottle before being sold.

750ml bottle shared by Schroppfy. Hazy honey colored orange body with a small white head. Big and viscous in the glass. Has a strange melon and fruit cocktail smell, sweet smelling - candy, sugar, sugar, fruit, etc. Mild and faintly tart, undercarbonated and sugary, prickly, and similar in texture to some unblended lambic. Finishes with slightly sour pears. Very palatable but doesn’t offer a whole lot.

(750ml bottle, thanks Schroppfy) Cloudy light amber body topped by a scintilla of an off-white head. Aroma is medium sweet, some strawberry, sourness, funk. Taste is medium sweet, sour strawberry. Low carbonation, medium body, somewhat watery.

750mL bottle, courtesy of Schroppfy. Thanks, Michael! Pours a hazy, orange-yellow color; off-white head with patchy lacing. Strawberry fruit rollups / fruit leather in the aroma; some mildly tart citrus and strawberries. Medium-to-full mouthfeel: chewy, slightly tart strawberries and cherries, reasonably sour and funky; some dust and earthiness underneath. Medium, tart finish: strawberries, citrus, and funk.

sample at brewpub. Pours a copper color, hoppy aroma. Mildly spicy with a crisp and mildly bitter finish.

Rerate: I still like the flavor pretty well, but lack of carbonation in a couple of bottles is a problem. Dropped from 4.0 total score...

My bottle is indeed a 750, corked and caged, purchased at the brewery. It is also 5.75%. On the menu it is referred to as the Sour Blonde, and indeed there appears to be a wild yeast addition or two. Pours a luminescent golden orange with a lasting small head. Large bubbles initially. Smell of wet hay and completely overripe peach - these peaches are dripping flesh off the pit! Incredibly organic. Also a lot of dirty diaper stankiness. The flavor is sweet and tart at the same time, with great lactic and pediococcus bursts (sharp cheesiness), all sorts of grapeskin and peachy flavors. Almost no spices present in the flavor. Flavor is quite sour. Unidimensional, I’d bet, for many folks. I love it though. Too thin is one problem. 2006 bottle.

tap at the brewpub - Pours dark gold with a lingering, thin head. The aroma has lots of citrus, orange in particular, and a hint of coriander. The flavor is sweet malt, some yeast, and mild spices especially in the finish. The body is fairly light and the finish is sweet. It might have a little too much orange.

this beer was like a hindu princess (beautiful looking but completely foul--smell, et al.)...hazy golden red body with small head...but skunked by diacetyl...had positive qualities that were unfortunately overshadowed by the "butter" aspect of the chemical...too bad

Served a bright vermillion body under a fading white head. Diverse aroma with honey, light banana, berries and pale malt. Sweet & yeasty with definite Belgian character. Smooth and satisfying. Not bad at all.
