Bottle. Body-almost glowing orange/red color. Nose-apple pie, cinnamon, light urea, buttery, light sweet bread. Taste-rich, fruity, apple/pear, low to medium sweetness, low to medium sour, light tart/acid, Christmas spices, cidery, dry fruit really comes out. Damn near perfect acid/tart, sweetness and fruit characteristics are wonderfully done.

Bottle purchased from the brewery in December 2005 and shared with the local Milwaukee crew. Explosive, booming, sudsy, bubbly, mocha fluff head rides a murky, muddy, middle-to-darkening brown color. Dynamic aroma ensnares some applewood, cranberries, rhubarb, pepper and raspberry vinaigrette. Crazy stuff. Raspberry kernels and mildew seem to sneak in on wafts on the backend. Strangely beautiful flavor. Mildew on rain-sodden barnyard planks, never undergoing renovations since erection at the turn of the century. Peppery apple butter meets maple tree bark. Definitive barnyard composure. Sandals and saddles. Mildew and mulch. Slightly sweet and sour surges, but very tolerable and ever inductive. Perhaps not a style champion, but I’m liking it over others in the genre. Rhubarb repeats in the finish, mired by pepper, apple cider and musky light-blend molasses. Very enjoyable.

Bought in Ann Arbour, aged one year from bottling down the road. This is an unusual brown, yes sourness but not a sour beer overall. Good drinking. Soapy big head on opaque brown. Malt and yeasty enjoyable aroma. Moderate sourness, and medium mouthfeel, complex and good drinkability.

Bottle. Poured a dark red with a slight orange hue and a thick light brown head. Aroma was full of tart notes with a clear grapefruit note. There were undertones of apple and cinnamon. Flavor was very tart and sour with grapefruit and berry notes and an undertone of cinnamon. Very nice beer.

750 ml bottle puckering in the mouths of MartinT, tiggmtl, Rastacouere and myself. Massively foamy at first topping a deep muddy magenta...sour/bitter tannic/vinous nose, lightly cherry-inflected...very sharp and sour throughout, bitter grasses and sour fruit, barnyard, heavy and thick almost to cloying (but without sweetness). Somebody said "Flemish sour with IPA bitterness thrown in" and that about hits it. Powerful and intense but hard to drink...glad I had others to share with.

Wonderfully ruddy. Looks the part. Smells fantastically of dark cherry skin, even stones, minerally. Great malt sweet and sourdough to accompany the cherry and pepper aroma. The limestone, brackish water, cherry, deep blood and iron flavoring are fine initially, but with warming and the yeast pour there is a cardboardy, filmy presence. I found it not as bad as TAR, but I understand where he’s coming from. I applaud what’s happening at Arbor these days - very experimental.
