Jun 25, 2008 Medium gold, IPA-ish looking beer, with a surprising bright fruity character in the aroma and flavor - actually quite sweet and honey-like - hard to detect the rye, despite it being 35% of the grain bill - it is a bit grainy, but it remains sweet and lightly floral throughout - like and IPA/Maibock hybrid.

hazy amber, thin fine white head, light sweet carmel malt aroma, sweet malt flavor, sharp rye character offering a hint of tartness, nice bitterness coming in at the finish to balance it out, a hint of the house vegitables on the side comes in and takes it down,

Jul 6, 2007 3 ounce draught sample at the brewpub on June 19, 2007. Unfiltered, glowing gold with a nice puff of creamy head....spicy, juicy aroma, lots of carroway of course, also lemon peel and pepper, very fresh (they had just put it on that day) and pungent....sweet rye-whiskey flavor with hints of corn sugar/bourbon is just what I’m hankering for, being a recent convert to the joys of rye; bitter/spicy/peppery characteristics dominate the finish.....moderate to high carbonation....could have used a bit more tartness perhaps, but quite solid as is.

Jan 11, 2007 On tap at pub. Pours a copper color with a thin white head. Had a little rye bitterness in the flavor. This one seemed to be pretty sweet also.

Dec 31, 2006 Draught. Dark opaque orange with no head formation. The aroma is sweet and slightly buttery with a sufficient level of ripe hops, and perfume. Strange flavour is bready with buttery/flowery hops and alcohol sweetness. I was expecting more from this but I got more of an underfermented medley of sugar and hops.
