ADurst german Pale and Crystal malts and 35% rye, with Mt. Hood hops, gives a medium bodied favorite. It has a fruity, flavorful, easy drinking character much tamer than its ABV.

Poured from a pitcher at an Arbor event. Reddish amber in color. Sparse whitish head. Malty, sweet aroma. Somewhat dry mouthfeel. Alcohol is not noticeable. Not terribly impressive.

Hazed amber with minimal head. Grainy sweet malty aroma. Sweet flavor with an odd, rye (I guess) grainiess. Quite sweet/ Full soft palate. Very sweet. Didi I mention that?

On tap: Light malt and hop aroma. Slightly hazy amber with almost no head. Sweet from start to finish. No difference from the start to the finish. Light smoke in the background.

tap sample: Clear orange with a sugary nose. Thick sugary sweet, with rye peeking through in the middle, thick and sticky, but too sugary for my palate.

Draft at the Arbor Brewing Company Pub & Eatery. Poured no head, no lacing, no carbonation, transparent, and an orange hue. Malty and hoppy aroma and hoppy flavor. Tingly mouthfeel. Medium bodied beer.

On draft at brewery: Not as good as I was expecting. Very sweet, cloyingly so. The rye wasn’t very apparent. The mouthfeel was muddled, nothing was obvious. This isn’t one I’ll be ordering next time I stop by.

This draft brew from the brewery poured a practically no head of finely sized quickly disappearing white colored bubbles that left behind an unnoted lacing. The body contained no carbonation, was transparent and light brown in color. Its aroma contained notes of mild red malts. Its mouth feel is initially tingly and smoothly vinous with a hop bite and a smooth malty aftertaste. Its flavor contained red malty notes. An OK beer but nothing spectacular here.

Absurdly sweet and heavy with huge crystal malt - more crystal malty and fruity than any beer in recent memory. This is thick! Nice aroma, slightly smoky (or was that the anticipation of the smoked lager growler to go). Hops subdued under the huge malt presence and I expected some serious rye crispness but didn’t find it.
