hazy amber, thin fine white head, light sweet carmel malt aroma, sweet malt flavor, sharp rye character offering a hint of tartness, nice bitterness coming in at the finish to balance it out, a hint of the house vegitables on the side comes in and takes it down,

Aromas of very light rye, caramel, and toffee. Tastes of pretty much the same with a light fruitiness to it. CaptainCougar (5520), Rockville, Maryland, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jul 14, 2006 On tap at the brewpub on 4/27/06: Pours a clear copper bronze with a thin ring of white head. Sweet caramel malty aroma has a touch of noble hops. Starts with a sweet viscous caramel maltiness balanced with some German malts turning more bitter toward the finish. Has lots of citrusy hops throughout, but is perhaps a bit too sweet. Tmoney99 (4777), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 8, 2005 Draft at Arbor Brewing. Hazy amber with a medium head that diminished quickly. Medium balanced aroma with sweet tone. Medium body. Medium flavor with a medium sweet fruity finish. Tasted more like a fruit beer. muzzlehatch (4427), Burlington, Vermont, USA

Unfiltered, glowing gold with a nice puff of creamy head....spicy, juicy aroma, lots of carroway of course, also lemon peel and pepper, very fresh (they had just put it on that day) and pungent....sweet rye-whiskey flavor with hints of corn sugar/bourbon is just what I’m hankering for, being a recent convert to the joys of rye; bitter/spicy/peppery characteristics dominate the finish.....moderate to high carbonation....could have used a bit more tartness perhaps, but quite solid as is. goldtwins (4084), Nesconset, New York, USA

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Oct 20, 2004 This draft brew from the brewery poured a practically no head of finely sized quickly disappearing white colored bubbles that left behind an unnoted lacing. The body contained no carbonation, was transparent and light brown in color. Its aroma contained notes of mild red malts. Its mouth feel is initially tingly and smoothly vinous with a hop bite and a smooth malty aftertaste. Its flavor contained red malty notes. An OK beer but nothing spectacular here.
