Touch of vanilla and a slight hint of chocolate. Smell made my mouth water.... smells delicious! Poured a black with a very small and fast dissipating tan head. Very, very light lacing on Pint. Flavor is of rich coffee, light touch of vanilla, light hint of dark chocolate, slightly bitter roasted malt ending in a rich coffee.Very pleasant! taste. Not overpowering, but very nice! Body is medium, a creamy texture, soft carbonation, with a short, pleasantly bitter finish. I’m not usually a big fan of coffee dominated stouts, but this is well done! I really enjoyed this Stout and will definitely drink again. The only thing wrong with this fine brew is the very soft carbonation and the lack of a great head on it. But, the excellent taste and balance of this Stout more than makes up for it. Not in my favorite rotation, but will definitely drink this often! Give it a try! Its worth the experience! Great job by Arbor!!! jeremyd365 (109), Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA

It smelled delightfully strongly of espresso/coffee and chocolate.
It felt thick and syrupy in the mouth, and tasted as strong as it smelled.
For being such a thick, heavy beer, I was surprised how drinkable it actually was.
A definite buy. gwpom (253), Akron, New York, USA

Not overpowering, smooth, yet full of flavor, and excellent with dinner. Not as stout as a stout is expected to be, still had enough body and flavor to please me and go back for seconds. rob897 (62), Buffalo, New York, USA

Served with a dark brown/black body under a head which thins out quickly. Huge coffee nose. Thin and a little chalky (as described), but the flavor has a truly robust kick to it! Plenty of coffee flavor with chocolate candy (Tootsie Rolls) making a late showing. Enjoyable.

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 6, 2007 10 ounce draught mug at the brewpub on June 19, 2007. Opaque dark chocolate, a whisper of foam dies quickly...thankfully, this is not served on nitro, as....the wonderful aroma might have suffered: one of the more intense coffee noses I’ve experiences, yet creamy-sweet like a latte, or maybe a mocacchino with marzipan, chocolate, vanilla and caramel and yes, even some faint "beery" malts; astounding....on the tongue, it’s not as impressive, obviously not as full as it could be, but there’s always a nice interplay between the strong but smooth java character and the dark sweetish roasty malts, caramelized beautifully....low carbonation, a touch watery, not syrupy at all though it never becomes exactly dry, either.
