| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 29, 2005 Fairly deep copper color. Definitely some sweet notes. I had with a plain old cheeseburger, it matched pretty well, however, I was pretty drunk when I drank this. Nothing entirely remarkable about this beer, but it’s something I would contemplate buying again. Schroppfy (1813), Ohio, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 1, 2004 The only ABC beer I've had with suspended yeast and some sedimentary heftiness. Ultimately a bit too sweet for style, I think, in all aromatic and flavor aspects. Should be more deeply musty, leathery and with a bit thinner palate, and smokier. Quite fruity - the menu description say "chocolate covered cherries" and indeed they've accomplished some of that - English strong-ish, but not complex or sharp. hennes (932), Fountain, Michigan, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Nov 9, 2001 Wow. This is a hell of a beer, beautiful in the glass and kaleidoscopic in flavour as it allows you to experience a rich and spicy shock of alcohol, a rise of berry-and-chocolate in the malt, and a scant dry breath of hops at close. Only the alt is better in the ABC portfolio.
