12 oz bottle
Unknown bottling (notched E and G), reddened 02/07.
Medium pour in a tulip glass
Poured amber with an average fizzy off-white mostly diminishing head.
Smelt of moderate sweat and caramel and of light dark bread.
Taste was upfront moderately bitter sweet and sour orange and caramel and light toasted bread followed by a strong bitter perfume and herbs hops characteristics with a moderate sweet caramel orange on an average length finish.
Palate was light to medium bodied, watery, lively carbonated and lightly astringent
Overall, an interesting British style amber. It could use a tinge more malt flavor in my opinion. A bit disappointing for an Arcadia product. Stine (1380), St. Paul, Minnesota, USA

| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 8/20 | Jan 15, 2007 Single bottle from Wine Vault, Columbus, OH. Snifter. Pours a barely murky amber with a beautiful, frothy, off-white head; head is easily revived with swirling. Aroma is sour and astringent and citrusy with a really sharp sweetness like an apple lollipop; caramel; light, bitter hops through the finish. Flavor is sour, sort of tangy, and exhibits lots of malt and caramel; dry, alcohol-laden, tart finish. Medium-thick, frothy, and sticky body. I would have guessed this bottle was past its prime, but since the preceding rater says many of the same things as me, I suspect this is what the beer is supposed to be like, unless we both got bottles from the same bad batch. It’s extremely rare that I do this, but some of this beer is going down the drain. irishsnake (353), Oakland, California, USA
| 1.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 2/10 | 1/5 | 6/20 | Jan 11, 2007 decants a rather fizzy, lightly-hazed orange-blushed amber, with a big off-white head that retains well and leaves good lace. nose is a bit problematic. something of a soapy/detergent smell up front, with some tart fruit notes on the side. it tastes worse than it smells. I think this one is starting to go. very dry, somewhat tart...given time, I think this is on the way to malt vinegar.
well, I’m assuming this one has a problem. I’ll be happy to give it another go ’round - but this one is going down the drain. beerbuzzmontreal (2931), Montreal, Quebec, Canada

Aroma and flavor of citrusy hops and caramel. The body is light with an oily texture and soft carbonation. theisti (1692), Leawood, Kansas, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 26, 2006 Bottle - Arcadia sampler pack. Pour is amber, with a slight orange to it. Big head, decent lacing for an amber ale. Taste is malty, with OK body. Picked up on the slightest sour (orange peel?) taste. Overall, pretty ordinary.
