Commercial Description:
Arcadia introduces the newest addition to its stable of world class British-style ales. Brewed with the legendary Maris Otter Malt from Scotland, this beer is full-bodied and brings a taste of sweet caramel together with a hint of toasted malt that's well balenced with a solid presence of premium American aromatic flower leaf hops. From the package: "Then let us toast John Barleycorn, Each man a glass in hand; And may his great posterity ne'er fail in old Scotland!"

Good gracious, what have we here? Slight bubbler, though it settled down. Big head, becomes rocky with no lace. Sweet aroma of lightly toasted marshmallows. Very cloudy and hazed out. Sweet caramel flavors are balanced by floral and earthy hops. DELICIOUS! Thanksto Brad.

Deep amber, big puffy white head. Nose sweet caramel, dry hops, some woodiness. Crisp and rich, dry and nutty, good hop bite. Some intriguing spice to it, same character I recall from the Whitsun, I’m wondering if this is the house flavor? A mite buttery. Hops are mildly citric but not overdone, malts are chewy. For something labeled an "amber", this is quite nice.

Sunsetting orange with a dullish copper hue. Small, smoothly set cream colored froth. Keeps a solid skim always present and firmly fluffed collar creeps along the sides of the glass distributing lace in thin sheeting as its consumed. Aroma is clean and calm with a simpleness thats adequately bold and present. Lightly toasted toffee wafferness and a small dulled and dried cedar wood dusting with a smidgeon of floralness and paled fruityness. Gained a heavier presence in the wood notes as it warmed. Taste is quite easy to take. Moderately malty with a very tame tone of biscuity caramel dry bakery stuff. Medium to light-sided heft in flavors. Middle seems to miss some as it finally begins to urge a bit of tenderness of floral, woodish, dried hops across the tail end. A very gracefully approaching beer, but not all that complex nor active enough to bring a full notion of appreciation in flavor length or character. Feel is close to medium, quite smooth and lightly carbonated with very nice little gradual steps into the woodish hops as it finishes. Semi dry and light but super fine to drink. Sessionable by alot. A solid amber that would make for a good crossover beer.

Tap. Not too bad. I had it but had it a little while ago. Will give a better rating later when I can give it a better chance.

Brew HaHa - one of the better Ambers I’ve had in a while. Full, rich body is loaded with caramel malt (Maris Otter?) sweetness. Nicely bitter finish as well. Solid.

Wow what a great and different beer. This is not an amber ale, though. This tastes like a specialty grain or spice beer. Aroma of sorghum and caramel malt. Pour was a nice medium amber with a one finger off white head. Taste was very different so I can’t describe it. Nice and bitey with a floral taste throughout. Very refreshing, just can’t put my finger on these tastes.

This bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a extremely large sized head of all foam finely sized tan colored bubbles that were long lasting and left behind a very hazy no visible carbonation dark orange brown colored body and a good lacing. The mild aroma was malty dough and caramel malt. The crisp and clean mouth feel was tingly at the start with a mediumly tingly finish with a medium vinous aftertaste. The good flavor contained notes of malt hops and caramel. Delicious and one I would certainly buy again.

Sampler glass.Rating #994! I said in my previous rating of their Angler’s Ale that it might be great on cask… then the next beer was on cask! Gives it a nice creamy, smooth head. Very low carbonation, almost still. Color is on the dark side of the amber scale. Nice mouthfeel, texture of a nitro oatmeal stout. Slippery smooth.
