| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 4, 2005 <B<Bottle Pours a clear light golden amber with a HUGE white head. Thought it was gonna overflow on me.
Light pale grains and cereal are the aromas, though probly muffled by this insulation. Flavors are muted a bit as well. Light malts and fairly sweet. Very little hops and no real bitter aftertaste. Pretty thin feel. Pleasant but not too interesing. Pigfoot (2226), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Sep 4, 2005 Appearance: pale bronze color, with numerous flurries, it’s a yeast storm, if that’s what they are...head is slim, white, with small brown dots here and there.
Aroma: spicy, fruity hops, mingled with malt, a touch of citric sour, as well, which gets louder over time, becoming more English as we go...?
Taste: slides right on and off the tongue, revealing some of those flavors found in the nose, the fruit and spice, the citrus, and a woody character, too. Really digs in the palate, too, hangs on good, leaves the finish soft and dry.
Medium-bodied, well-balanced, flavor-wise, essentially adequate.
While it’s several shades shy of spectacular, I also can’t really find fault with it. Very nice, easy drinker, grab one for a mellow session at the ol’ fishin’ hole. JPDIPSO (4925), Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Aug 20, 2005 Lightly hazed dark golden color with a somewhat fizzy, but lasting off white head. Floral and light citric hops mix with a touch of what nearly seems to be floor malt and celery. Mild malt, toast and citric hops. An interesting brew, a cross of an IPA, APA and EPA and somehow seeming to miss them all enough to make it unremarkable. Still drinkable. Dough77 (777), Aurora, Illinois, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Aug 16, 2005 Not my favorite pale ale. Pour was copper/goldenish with a slight head. Everything was just kinda bland, some malt, hop, caramel. Nothing in the way of being special for sure. CharlesDarwin (1849), Point Judith, Rhode Island, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Aug 10, 2005 Nice copper hued color. Dry citrus hoppy aroma. Bland hop and amlt flavors. Dry hop palate. Not real interesting, pretty boring. BeerAteHer (384), St. Paul, Minnesota, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Jul 18, 2005 Ok try at a British pale ale. For British clones it might be a better idea to use non US-Northwest hops, as the latter impart a totally American element to any pale ale -- in this case the malts clash in a tinny fashion. Soft in the mouth though, only slightly tinny. Great head and rich copper tint. Aroma is an ok balance between hops and pillowy malt. There are worse choice of English pale out there. kms399 (267), plymouth, Minnesota, USA
