Not much for aroma - some hay and chicken feed along with a slight pils twang and traces of caramel. Flavor unfolds with crisp cornhusks sweetened with golden butter. Caramel and English toffee serve as the sweeteners, joining a brisk hop profile. Decent rendition. JK (2961), Richfield, Minnesota, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 4, 2005 Aroma has some fruit and a little malt, but there should be more of both. It is a great looking beer. Very dark gold sediment. Flavor is low strength, herbal hops. The floral quality comes out more as it warms. OhioDad (2491), Hilliard, Ohio, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 5, 2005 Bottle 12 oz - Amber with a fluffy and patchy offwhite head. Aroma is citrus, grapefruits and pine cones. Delicious to smell. Taste is some sharp hops up front that blend to sweet malts then back for a nice bitter finish. A very good APA. I liked this one. | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 31, 2005 Bottle. Dark amber hue with large rocky white head. Heavy complex aroma. Medium body with balanced bitter finish. Good flavor of average duration. SpudClampDawg (1027), Jasper, Indiana, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 29, 2005 The sweet fruits and bubble gum in the aroma are interesting to say the least. Canalope, honey dew, strawberry and peach all make an appearance, along with good ’ole Bazooka Joe. Unfortunately the body isn’t as interesting. This ale has a real spritzy mouthfeel and is very thin with a somewhat dry finish. heemer77 (4311), Savannah, Missouri, USA
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | May 18, 2005 Pours a rather dark cloudy gold with a huge head. The aroma is lemons with some vinegar. There is also a leathery note. The taste is slightly sour with hay and grapefruit. Not sure exactly what they are trying for here. It is too hoppy for an English pale ale. hopscotch (5511), Vero Beach, Florida, USA

Excellent retention and cool, spiderweb lacework. The nose is of orange blossom honey, evergreen and grapefruit. Perfectly balanced flavor with notes of toffee, lemon and grapefruit rind. Light-bodied and mildly creamy with lively carbonation. Short, crisp, lightly bitter finish. Refreshing, at least. AustinMilbarge (681), Denver, Colorado, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 14, 2005 Toffee, amber color. A little bit of carbonation. Toffee and chewy malt are the primary characteristics. A little bit hoppy tang. On par with other offerings out of Battle Creek.
