The hops were not intensed but grassy/slightly citrusy. Nothing real exciting, a session beer. jtw (943), farmington, Michigan, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jun 6, 2004 October 2003 bottle. Smells like a whole lot of hops, lightly spicy, grassy and a bit of doughiness. Looks the part, orange/amber, light carbonation and good white head. Flavor has some dry caramel malt, mixed in with some fluffy hops. Nothing terribly remarkeable. Well-made and good for what it is. Medium body, not much thinning, soft carbonation. This bottled brew poured a small head of medium sized white colored bubbles that left behind a good lacing. The body was a softly carbonated transparent light brown color. The aroma was very mild with only a few malty notes if anything at all. The mouth feel was hoppy and medium strength with a hoppy flavor over all. TChrome (1302), Bedford, Texas, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Feb 20, 2004 Beer pours dark golden and is a bit cloudy. Beer has a nice white head that is retained. Aroma is a bit understated with a light note of hops being present. Nice tasty flavor with good, though restrained flavor of hops and a light malt presence to provide balance. Good ale. roacheater (36), USA

But this is an ENGLISH pale ale and is subject to different criteria. The brew is good not only in its class, but good overall. I've only had it from the bottle and it was a surprise. The knuckleheads in Battle Creek are doing something more than just making crappy cereal. Don't make the mistake of selling this stuff short... if the quality control remains high over time then it will be more than just a younger brother to the Fuller's class of cervezas. | 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Dec 23, 2003 Poured clear amber with a large white head that lasted well. Mild aroma, slightly sweet with floral and citrus scents. Flavor is lightly malty but unbalanced in hops making it tart and bitter in an unpleasant way. Medium body and good carbonation.
