| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 27, 2006 This beer is uselessly overcarbonated, I am barely able to get one inch of beer into a full British pint glass, the rest of course is foam. To say that the head is voluminous is a vast understatement, but it is. It is also pillowy and a full tan color. The beer itself is a hazy orangish copper color. The aroma is quite hoppy, which is nice and has notes of pine and something that seems a bit sweet and a bit spicy as well.
The taste is quite sweet with a soft, fruity note that is reminiscent of raisins and plums. The finish has a bit of alcohol to it, actually it is even a bit hot. The beer is of course hoppy, I get notes of sweetened lemon citrus type notes, some notes of tangerine, and some typical grapefruity. The hop bitterness is apparent in the finish and there is a bit of tannic astringency here as well. Interestingly enough, there is almost a note of something that reminds me of cinnamon. It is definitely from the hops and I have also found similar notes in Yulesmith that only show up with a few months of age, but then quickly disappears. Despite the sweetness of this beer it is fairly light and drinkable. mds (2112), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 5, 2006 Bottle courtesy of Styles, thanks man!- Hazy orange pour with a thick froth of beige head, leaving a solid spiderweb of lace. Orangey hops, with a grapey aroma as well. Also present in the nose, and english ale type of fruitiness. Interesting aroma. This is hop fueled, not doubt. Orange peel flavours, with bready malt fruit, caramel, toffee, and plum. Tastes great. Hoppy lingering finish, left me wanting more of this! Thanks again Chris, you da man! kramer (2484), Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Mar 4, 2006 12 oz bottle, via Styles. Pours a dark copper with a very large and fluffy beige head. Heavy citric hop aroma with an equally heavy caramel malt base. Notes of iced tea and vanilla. Very biting bitter flavor, lots of grapefruit and tangerine. The base is heavy caramel and toffee, very sweet below all that bitterness. Overcarbonated foamy mouthfeel that makes it a little hard to discern any of the more subtle aspects. Overall I didn’t really think this bottle was at the top of it’s game and maybe well past it’s prime. One thing is for sure, it ain’t gonna get better so drink up if you have them! zug4abby (287), San Diego, California, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 3, 2006 Thanks Cquiroga! Pours a cloudy brown color with a huge but quickly dissapating head that leaves lots of lacing that sticks to the rim of the glass. Aroma is slightly hoppy/bitter, yet very light on the nose. Flavor is very light with slight alcohol undertones. Finishes with a mild hop hint. Very effervescent on the palate. MikeMac (185), Wyandotte, Michigan, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 28, 2006 12 oz bottle. Thanks pailhead. Poured a burnt orange with a huge foamy off white head that almost whent over the. top. Faint aromas of malt earth and twigs. A very faint hint of citrus in there somewhere. Not much hop aroma though. Flavor was a strange sour citrus that finished wiht a bubbly feel on my tounge. Not much hop flavor to boast the "hop fueled" on the label. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 28, 2006 Bottled, thanks to styles! Pour was a medium, hazy rosy-orange with a short cap of beige head. Intricate lacing followed it down. Aroma was thick with caramel and very sweet grapefruit. Pine and spruce resin left a lasting impression on the tastebuds.. grapefruit was there, but the hops are probably a little past their prime. Caramel provides a smooth backbone.. and there was a solid bitter presence at the edges. Sticky grapefruit on the finish. Tasty. footbalm (1219), Salt Lake City, Utah, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Nov 28, 2005 Bottle I think from Styles. I wasn’t that impressed with this as the hops didn’t really stand out anywhere what I was expecting.More of a swet candy taste than a IPA-ishness.Poor representation of the style.
