Grapefruit aroma, moderated in taste by carmel and being well malted. Juicy peach and piney. Heavy carbonation. Better than average brew and decent representation of style, and would like to try on tap. Medium mouthfeel. DavidP (1743), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Nov 8, 2005 Bottle, opens with a big hiss and pours with the correspondingly huge and untamable head. Once everything settles down an aroma of figs and brown sugared squash greet you. Very fruity flavor- lots of rasberry and peach with the sweetness further extended with caramel and vanilla. Hop fuled my ass - this guy has some grapefruit flesh and spicy stem at the start and some rind bitterness at the end but that’s about it. If you like your IPA sweet (and hard to pour) this is your beer. SuIIy (1486), Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts, USA

Possibly the creamiest, thickest, foamiest head ive ever seen. Nose is sweet, subtle hopps and caramel. Taste up front is like a hop milk shake. Big hops, sweetness of caramel, a great texture when mixed with the head. so smooth and creamy its unreal. Finishes strong with a slight bitterness and keeps up a strong hop flavor throughout. fordest (1954), Santee/San Diego, California, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Nov 3, 2005 12 oz bottle. Hugest Head I have seen. Even after the first pour and I knew what I had to do, I couldn’t pour this beer slow enough. There was actually head just sitting in the bottle waiting to come out. It was like I was drinking a root beer float. And what it left behind, I wouldn’t call lacing... more like Head stuck to the glass. Aromas were classic IPA citrus, grapfruit and vanilla, but the flavor was quite a step up. Very smooth and sweet with the same citrus grapefruit and vanilla, but some added sugar and caramel. Very Very Tasty. Thanks to SuIIy for another great beer. jah noth (1020), Rochester, New York, USA

Pours a thick, cloudy brown amber with thick head and oozing lace. Rich, malty mouthfeel zapping with lots of citric hops. Quick finish. A real nice IPA. Thanks Brad! This started out as a gusher, all creamy off-white head that took a while to settle down in the glass.
Slowly, a murky medium amber beer assembled below the long lasting head above.
Piney hop aroma was joined by some floral honey notes.
No infection apparent in the flavor though, decent malt but not really enough bitterness to balance it out for a higher score. Medium mouthfeel. This came across more as an APA than an IPA, but overall, a drinkable brew. Rastacouere (5564), Montréal, Quebec, Canada
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 24, 2005 Extremely aromatic spruce resin, weeds and grapefruit nose. Hop fueled as the label indicates seems to fit for me. While this is usually not my style (not much soft and rounded biscuity/toasty maltiness), it looks awesome and doesn’t feel as one-dimensional as most contenders, probably thanks to an efficient bottle-conditioning. It is murky, copper, covered by a fully laced off-white head, initially gigantic in size and still more than fair after several sips. Starts moderately sweet, in a caramel syrup kinda way, but evolves quickly toward the massive hoppiness, no watery edges, firm bitterness, well rounded palate, captivating and without influencing acidity. Good stuff. IMtheOptimator (1161), Bethel, Connecticut, USA

Pours a voluptuously effervescent amber with a very large frothy off-white head. Pungent pine, grass, and grapefruit aroma. No mistaking the hops here. Taste has strong grassy earthy tones and a sharp citrus hop bite, with a full sweet malt backbone to support it. Nice body. Awesome IPA.
