Poured a dark and hazy amber color with a huge (5 finger) tan head. Aromas of juicy oranges, pine, pineapple and light pepper. Tastes of oranges, pine, caramel and pineapple. Medium bitter with a sweet balance to it. Enjoyable. Schroppfy (1813), Ohio, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | May 18, 2005 I had this once, and thought it was run-of-the-mill. I thought, actually, that it was double IPA - the beer was too cold the first time. This one (brought to the party by Pailhead - thanks!) I had down in the cellar for the past couple of days so it was cracked at 60 deg. Wow, did the intense pine hopping come thought with a great earthy dregs in the bottom. Seemed hefty from the sheer amount of ingredients. growler (74), West Virginia, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 14, 2005 12 oz. bottle. Can you say carbonation? Wow! This one foamed to the point I though it was contaminated. Once it finally died down, it was a somewhat drinkable IPA. Heavily hopped but entirely too much carbonation to enjoy. Was hoping for something much better from such a fine brewery on their 999th batch. thehoff (569), Kalamazoo, Michigan, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 10, 2005 This is definitely "hop-fueled" as the label suggests. Really is just a mediocre IPA though. Tastes like it should have a higher alcohol content. OK for me. ChazyRPh (571), Chazy, New York, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Apr 30, 2005 bottle...hazy amber pour, heavy carbonation. Lemon Pine Sol is the aroma I get. Not all that appealing, but I’ll try none the less. Sweet, yet bitter to start. Kind of astringent, grapefruit bitterness, alcohol burn is evident also. Complex, lots of different flavors going on. Sticky, and strange. DYCSoccer17 (2201), Davis, California, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 30, 2005 Bottle. EXTREMELY CARBONATED. Slightly pine aroma with grapefruity citrus notes as well. Smells slightly like detergent. I’m not sure if this might be a bad bottle? Hazy amber color with a huge huge frothy off-white head. Quite bitter and hoppy to start with lots of grapefruit notes. Turns roasty with roasted malts in the middle. Finishes slightly minty and hints of pine. There appears to be a lot of English character to this. biz82 (1328), austin, Texas, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 2/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 14, 2005 Hazy and auburn colored with little head. Strong hop aroma with peach, wood, caramel and some fresh herbs, maybe lavender. Very distinct. Spicy and dense in flavor. Big bodied with low bitterness. Rather still on the palate. Lightly tart with some earthiness and vegetable flavors along with the malt and hops. Interesting product, if not immediately outstanding. Citrus qualities come out as it warms. Must revisit.
