Pours dark amber with no head (is this due to the 2006 year on the label?). Although it is a big beer (22 oz.) the flavor is far from big. Nice malt follow through and a hint of the 8% ABV as indicated on the bottle. If there beer was meant to be cellared and get better with age then perhaps this one was left in the attic!

Pours a cloudy amber color with a ring of white lace on top. Aroma and flavor of earthy malt and caramel. The body is lighter than I expected, the texture is liquorous and the carbonation is soft.

In short: Thin dry caramel body and pleasant woody hoppy finish. Average.
How: Tasting session with Montreal crew.
The look: Cloudy amber body with a little off-white ring of foam
In long: Thin dry caramel with roasted dry cereals. Some residual sugar. Sensation of butterscotch flavoured hard-candy. The beer is somewhat saved by pleasant hoppy finish with a woody caramel after-taste. Quite drinkable but this is one big dick nobody will brag about.

Pours a copper color with an off-white head. Sweet aroma of caramel malts, chocolate, some oak, and some plums. Not much flavor on this. What’s there is of caramel malts, chocolate, oak, plums, and just a hint of some citrus hops. Finishes only slightly bitter but with not much alcohol warming.

My Bottom Line:
Milk-laden caramel malts are accompanied by soaring earthy, leafy hops in the last half of each sip, leading to a gripping bitterness for this slender and drinkable Old Ale.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A ring of foam circles the hazy dark amber.
-Alcohol does not bother the flavor profile much, which I like.
-Vanilla, candy and nuts seep from the malts as well.
-The carbonation is soft, helping the mouthfeel and its drinkability.
-The end hoppiness might be a little too much for the malts, but both parties still get along well.

Bottle.

Bomber. Clear, dark, brownish red with a light tan head. Somewhat sweet nose, caramel and a bit woody, light chocolate and nut. Earthy flavors, nutty, a bit sour, more wood. A bit of a burnt note becomes apparent as it warms a bit, as does a cherry-berry wisp. Mild chocolate finish, earthy hop bite. I’m not sure, style wise, this is really an old ale, but it’s hard to pin this guy down. Damned tasty and drinkable, whatever it is!
