Pour was a dark brown with a decent one finger off white head. Taste was a sticky mix of earth, chocolate and iced tea. Malt in the background. Definately will buy again jwdevalue (158), Neptune, New Jersey, USA

Barely any fruit in the taster. I’d like to try a full bottle of this sometime so i can get a more full taste. kp (8500), Woodstock, Georgia, USA

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Aug 20, 2007 Bomber, 2006 vintage. Poured hazy, deep reddish-caramel with a moderate, well-retained cap of creamy beige head. The aroma was remniscent of a sour brown ale, which struck me as odd.. tart cherry and plum skins rising over toasted caramel, some oak, and chocolate notes.. I have to say I enjoyed this. The flavor was a different story.. tart cherry on the tip of the tongue with creamy caramel across the middle.. back-end is an ugly explosion of tart fruits, chocolate, and alcohol... the components were not bad in and of themselves, but it just didn’t flow here.. same stuff rode through the finish, with the alcohol and tart fruits almost attacking each other. Heavier-bodied overall with very poor flow to it.. tart to creamy to sharp with not much for transitions. I was looking forward to this.. bummer. GonZoBeeR (2163), ste-Eulalie, Quebec, Canada

Aroma had a lot of ethanol with a little hops and caramel malt to it. Flavor was not very exctiting and had a little burn with some caramel malt. Not one i would drink again. A healthy dose of molasses and ether meet the nose. Medium bodied and lively carbed. The body offers loads of sugar in the form of waffle syrup, molasses and brown sugar. Citrusy hops balance somewhat - but the sweetness prevails, ultimately limiting the complexity of the beer.
