Pours a dark brown with a vague reddish hue and a beige head. Lightly tart aroma with bourbon notes showing. Medium body, lots of roasted malt and sweet vanilla. Dried fruit and weak touches of bourbon before a subdued bitterness. If this was infected - which I don’t really believe - then it was in a most spectacular way! 070907 Ungstrup (15343), Frederiksberg, Denmark

The aroma is sweet with notes of over ripe fruit, berries, and bourbon that sting in the nose. The flavor has notes of wood, bourbon, vegetables, on a slightly acidic back ground - probably from very hard roasted malt, which is what the finish is dominated by. The alcohol burns sligthtly in the mouth and warms up the cheeks. kp (8500), Woodstock, Georgia, USA

Aroma: lightly tart chocolate malt aroma,

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Aug 9, 2007 Pours deep brown with a dark garnet hue and dense creamy brown head. The aroma has bourbon, sweet dark fruits, vanilla, candy sugar and lactic acid. Medium body with minor sharp carbonation. The taste has candy sweet flavors, bourbon, sourness and is somewhat fruity. The finish is sour with off-fruits and an off-putting candy sweetness that lingers. Thumbs down to this underwhelming porter. sliffy (2012), Columbus, Ohio, USA

Aroma, oak, bourbon, some chocolate and vanilla. Flavor, chocolate, boozy, some dark fruits, just doesn’t do it for me. beerbuzzmontreal (2916), Montreal, Quebec, Canada
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 7/20 | Jul 30, 2007 Pours a clear dark brown color with a ring of offwhite lace. Aroma of chocolate and oak. The flavor is dominated by the oak, there is also chocolate and pickles. Not too good and it’s sad since I enjoy this breweries products. biggenius29 (155), Hamilton, Michigan, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 2/5 | 2/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Jul 12, 2007 Tasted way to much of bourbon. The oak character was nice and sweet, but there was way to much bourbon. The bourbon covered up any other flavor and aroma that would be in the beer. milewide (613), Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA
