Great bourbon porter. strong aroma poured like an oil slick! dry a bit and oaky (i guess) thick tan head that laces quite well. for sure some booze and woody flavord. but blanced nicely. mine had a noticeable sour taste at the end but not the WAY END. the very finish turned a bit sweet again and lingers for a while out back. NICE STUFF grab one if you can!

by the time the bottle got to me, it looked like a shipwreck. there was froth everywhere. smells and tastes like alcohol with a sour taste.

A brownish black appearance with a large tan head. This bottle blew up all of the place upon opening. Luckily I didnt open it. The aroma is chocolate, vanilla, bourbon, and coffee. The bourbon really takes over this beer unlike any other barrel aged beer Ive had. Behind the burbon lied some chocolate, vanilla, and raisins. A sweet finish.

Bottle exploded upon opening. Pours a mostly opaque with dark brown edges and a large, airy frothy tan head. Aroma of mild bourbon oak and vanilla with some fruity tartness and milk chocolate. Body starts fairly full and caramely sweet with a decent balance of tartness and earthy vanilla bourbon oak. I think this might be infected, but it actually balances pretty well.

Big gusher. Pours a deep brown color with a little light brown head. Aroma is lots of sour fruit, some woody notes, and some malt. Flavor is malty, woody, and sour. I like the sour.

22 Oz Bottle. Rich bourbon vanilla, oak, bourbon browned malt sugars and nips of candied licorice. Warm, creamy and rich. Pours dark brown-black with creamy tan head. Flavor starts very warm, with lots of barrel char, some scotch alcohols, nips of fusels, a run of burnt coffee and a hot hand of 77% dark chocolate. Moves into a mingling of hops and fragrant malt character. A touch hot, but a fairly decent melding of barrel and beer. Higher hopping enjoyable, and working well with oak dryness. Could use a touch more density and creaminess, but overall a well-done. Bits of salty sea oats. Thanks Shaun!

Dark brown with creamy tan head. Good strong aroma. Flavor is slightly acidic and tart, cream cheese, dark chocolate. Definitely has a bite, but very good. Creamy and rich palate.

Extremely dark brown/near black body. Tall sandy looking khaki head fades slowly to a bubbling ring. Pretty amazing aroma: peanut butter, bourbon barrels, vanilla, roasted malts, chocolate cake, caramel nougat. Slight smokiness is unexpected and intriguing. A unique nose, I got so lost in its intracacies. Some berry esters round out the aroma, making it feel whole and very enticing. Huge bourbon leads in the flavor(actually works here). More chocolate cake covers some of the roasty malts. the full flavor profile is reminiscent of brownies, soft and succulent. So many different chocolate tastes, probably a result of skilled malt extraction and proper attenuation. This is a beacon in a saturated category; a testament to heavy, but skilled, barrel aging. Palate isn’t too interesting, but the result leaves the focus here squarely pinned on the lovely taste. finishes alcoholic but barely warming, mildly dry. Very nice porter.
