22oz - Well, this is advertised as a bourbon beer and they weren’t lying. Aroma is very strong bourbon with vanilla and roasted dark malts. Pours black with a medium brown head and great lacing. Flavor is pretty much all bourbon with a little vanilla and chocolate sneaking into the finish. Palate is smooth. If you’re into bourbon barrel beer, this is right up your alley. An entire 22oz to yourself gets a bit overwhelming after a while.

Bottle. Pours almost black with a medium sized brown head. Kinda woody and dry with a strange feel of rootbeer. Unbalanced and not very pleasant.

Black with brown edges. 1cm frothy tan head. Nose of roasty bittersweet chocolate, oak, smoke, bourbon, vanilla, subtle marshmallow like sweetness, and subtle vinous notes. Great aroma. Flavor boosts bittersweet chocolate and vinous notes with all others holding steady. Medium body, balanced carbonation, very drinkable. Excellent.

@ blind tasting - Very dark brown body, clear red shine, beige head; Very special nose, cherry sour with a US cinnamon touch (more US Flemish sour ale the Porter/Stout); A bit thin cherry fruity acidy body, slightly bitter with a very little sweetness; Quite long very cinnamon cherry fruity finish, lots of aroma, acidy and sweet. Broken???

Bottle. [#15 Blind tasting session @ Sk8viking] Average creamy beige head that mostly diminished. Spare lacework. Black color. Aroma of berries and dried fruit, vinous and almost Flemish sour like in aroma. Light notes of toasted malt, vanilla, red wine like, hint of bourbon. Full bodied with an alcoholic texture and soft carbonation. Moderated sweet flavor with light bitterness. Sour light burning and warming finish. 07-09-2007

Bottle. Dark brown coloured with a beige ehad. Light roasted aroma of wood, vanilla and red wine. Flavour of wood, vanilla, chocolate and red wine with notes of liquorice and roasted notes. Tastes like something in between a flemish sour and a porter.

Blind tasting at sk8vikings porter / stout tasting, beer no 15. Pours dark brown with a red hue and a lacing light brown head. Alcohol heavy and sour nose. Flavour is slight sour, malty, toothpaste, slight off. Slight roasted. Alcohol warming finish and a persisting slight off note lingering on top of a malt flavour.
