May 24, 2008 On Tap at Capones. Dark red pour with very thin head. Caramel, Sugar and fruit aroma. Sweet , spicey and alcohol taste. It was really put together well.

May 19, 2008 2007 vintage bomber into a pint glass. Really rich dark brown pour with healthy fluffy khaki head that hold pretty well. Hops, whiskey, malt, Christmas cake, black cherries, sweet and spicy notes... very delicious and complex. All of the aromas in the flavor with a sweet doughy, malty finish. Not as much hops as expected, but this tastes really well balanced to me, maybe a bit too sweet, but thats up for your interpretation. Huge on the palate, doughy, coating, thick, smooth. I am having trouble rating this because I am very enticed to give it a perfect score, but for some reason feel guilty for doing so. I am going to have to give this time and re-rate it after I get some more barley wine experience. Overall: WAY underrated and well worth the price (I payed $8)

May 8, 2008 This one surprised me. At first scent (vanilla, oaky), I thought it was going to be yet another barelywine that’s too sweet for my taste. However the middle and end introduce a bit of dry, & enough bitter to even it out. Very (surprisingly?) drinkable, but not up there with my tried, dried favs, imo.

May 4, 2008 22 oz. brown, bomber bottle. No freshness date seen. Poured out a hazy brown color, with a thin tan head. Aromas are of fresh plums, brown sugar, some alcohol. flavors are of plums, some fruity esters, sweet malts, definite alcohol. Kind of hot tasting, burns the back of your throat. Medium body & mouthfeel.
OK to try once, I suppose.

Apr 22, 2008 22 oz bottle -- Poured big and dark, cherry red, with a good, standing head. The aroma is moderate, hinting at cherry cough syrup. This is quite drinkable, despite the power in it, which is somewhat scary. A tad ashy, but otherwise a good delivery of dark fruit, roast malt, and moderate alcohol. (#3430, 4/22/2008)

Apr 15, 2008 Murky reddish brown pour. Small head. Aroma mild. Some toffee,malt,hops and nut. Flavor is sweet with a full bodied mouth feel.
Caramel,malt,mild hops and mild dark fruit.
ABV not very noticeable.
