Hazy brown color. Caramel aroma and flavor, quite sweet, medium bitterness, but also light aroma of over-ripe apples.

Beautiful ruby-amber color, hazy; big head. The aroma is malty and hoppy, medium. The malty flavor is very strong, sweet as well, with a lot of sweet caramel, warming alcohol, correct bitterness for this brew; the hop qualities are there but hidden. Balanced Strong Ale, good.

Bottled. A hazy deep red beer with a thin orange head. The aroma is sweet with very powerful notes of over ripe fruit, alcohol, berries, malt, and caramel. The flavor is very sweet with a good deal of alcohol, but also with notes of over ripe fruits and caramel, as well as a light alchol burn on the palate. The massive sweetness makes it a bit cloying. (Bottle 65 cl) Courtesy of fiulijn. Vintage 2006. Pours a clear, orangey brown with a yellowish brown head. Sweetish caramel nose. Quite full-bodied with sweet and lightly burned caramel and a wee edge of aroma hops. Sweetish finish with also some nutty accents appearing. The finish is very subdued. Nothing flashy here but quite pleasant really. 030707

(2006 Vintage 22oz bottle, thanks BückDich) Small tan head with particulate-filled copper/red body. Aroma is moderately sweet, plum, some raisin, orange/grapefruit, raisin, light earthy. Taste is medium sweet, plum, earthy, some orange, grapefruit, light lemon. Fairly dry finish. Low carbonation, medium-full body, some resin.

Bottle. This was not a very good brew. An average barley wine. Nothibg special.

Bottle. Brown body with a big fluffy white head. (3+) Interesting aroma, alcohol, sugary toffee notes, mild malt presences. My nose is not quite up to deciphering it all today. Sweet caramel malt in the flavour is overlayed with some hot alcoholic notes. Average palate. Decent, a bit of a different take on a barley wine.

Aroma is grapefruit, citrus, lightly bitter mustiness. Amber brown color with a foamy tan head, dissipates quickly, good lacing. Flavor is sweet chocolate up front. Malty, caramel, sugary notes. Some dried fruit. Medium sweetness overall with a light bitterness. Fairly rich in the mouth, creamy and decent amount of carbonation. Straightforward and enjoyable. Lacks complexity in terms of flavor changes, but is still good.

Bottled. Pours coppery brown, with a nice tan head. Nose is malt, raisins, and toffee. Falvor is malt, raisins, alcohol, and caramel, with a sweet, alcohol tinged finish. Very enjoyable!
