Wet cardboard, little fruity, dried cherry, peach. Little sugar. Clean brownish orange color, small head and minor lacing. Bittersweet flavor. Caramel, brown sugar, little banana, gingerbread, honet, toasted wheat, little oat. Medium body, oily creamy mouthfeel, bittersweet finish. Eh, quite the dull beer, a big sweety. Tasted like wort. Just didn’t come together for me. cbkschubert (1983), Cochise Co., Arizona, USA

Deep cloudy brownish orange pour with a decent if diminishing head. Mild alcohol and sweet malt in the aroma, light hops and quite a bit of fruit. The taste was mild, very soft and easy to drink - only moderate alcohol, although it built on the tongue, some grassy/herbal hop sharpness works well with the juicy malt backbone - quite subtle, not in-your-face at all. Very gentle mouthfeel, not creamy, not silky, sort of both - mildly astringent, not much carbonation, and almost luxuriantly slow finish - very nice, very drinkable. rocbyter (919), Waterbury, Connecticut, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 25, 2007 Bottle. Pours a dark ruby-brown body with a soapy white head. The aroma is american-esque with some nice fresh and fruity hops. The flavour is more British-like with lots of lithe darkish malts: sweet caramel, toast, and cookie sweetness. Somewhat soft but in the middle to the finish there is a little bit of hop bite and alcohol warmth.
