Bottled at Oliver Twist, Stockholm. Mahogany colour, minimal head. lactic cherry aroma with some caramel. Sweet and fruity with a tart, yoghurt-like component. Full bodied and thick, a bit syrupy. Floral resiny hops sets in late and gives shampoo flavour, black currant and resiny bitterness. A barleywine with some highlights, but also a lot of drawbacks.

Amber in color with a fluffy off-white head. Aromas of dark caramel and chocolate with a bubblgummy sweetness. In the mouth it was medium to full-bodied, rich and somewhat sweet with some plummy flavors as well in the midpalate. The palate finished somewhat dry and almost tannic.

22 oz bottle, 2006 vintage. Pours red brown with a medium tan head. Aroma is a very strong sweet caramel, with some alcohol. Flavor is again the sweet caramel up front, then some alcohol, bread (or the titular cereal), and roastiness comes in. Hops only really come through in the bitter finish, along with a kind of stale bread flavor. A few things are a little off, but still quite enjoyable.

Aroma of Wheatabix or corn flakes together with some fruit esthers and madrification. The taste was not as god as the aroma. Some citrus taste and litle caramell and hops.

22oz bottle courtesy polomagnifico. Pours a deep brown with a thick tan head. Very big citrus hop aroma and became more herbal as the glass went on. Not as heavy on the malt as most barley wines go, but good body and enough malt to try and balanced out the spicy citrus hops. Slightly more herbal taste as it warms, very nice taste. An interesting BW and very good.

Bottle and served in NB Worthy glass: Bronze hue with a small frothy off-white head and spotty lace, a bit oily as well. The aroma has notes of very herbal hops, munich malt, cherry pits, phenolic alcoholic vapours and earthy yeast. The taste is moderately sweet and fruity with a malty overtone. Classic hop bitterness without the acidity. Very much in the English tradition than an American hop bomb. The mouth feel is slightly sticky and soft but there is a medicinal note which knocks it down a spot. An okay barleywine, aging my help but then I think it will get catty after awhile.

Bottle courtesy of polomagnifico...THANKS!!! Burnt orange color with an inch tall off-white head that receded into a small ring. The aroma is subtle candy sweetness. Taste of caramel, toasted marshmallow, and toffee. Not overly thin or thick...a decent brew.
