22 oz bomber. Very nice. Red brown body with a good whitish head. Aroma is very sweet, highlighted by bready malts. Flavor is quite sweet, malty, bready, but not cloying at all. A bit syrupy, but very drinkable.

Dec 26, 2009 RnH: Extreme Winter: While I am partial tot his style (extremely partial and biased in fact) I didn’t think this brew was anything so spectacular, good, but not wildly aggressive like the name suggested. Good fruit notes, sugars, enjoyable.

Dec 23, 2009 Bottle, $6.49 at Wine Warehouse, Charlottesville. Pours a clody deep amber with a frothy head (about 2"). Dark chocolates and dark fruits in the nose. Light and dark chocolates , cherry cordial, and sweet flavor. Nice.

Dec 20, 2009 Light on the hops, big on the purple fruit and molasses. Pours a deep purple with a light tan head. Purple fruit, roasted malt, caramel and smooth. A little bit of english hops on the finish. Tap at the Ginger Man in NYC.

Dec 14, 2009 On tap at Ginger Man, NYC. Pours a dark brown/maroon with a slight, white head. Sugary sweet aroma with notes of caramel and dark fruits. Taste is faintly hoppy with a small dose of malts. Most of the flavor is sweetness: brown sugar, toffee, some chocolate. Hints of red wine, or maybe whiskey. Either way, it’s hints of alcohol. Nice, lingering sweet finish. Made a great sipping beer. Good stuff.

Nov 20, 2009 Bottle - A reddish brown pour with small off-white head. Butterscotch, fruit and malted grains on the nose. On the sweet candy kind of side with hops and a sticky texture.

Nov 6, 2009 tasting sample on 11/5/09... 2006 bottle. pours a dark red... a sweet malt driven aroma with some fruit notes... sweet apple / raisin mouthfeel... big strong finish. any hops have faded... pretty much all malt driven at this point. enjoyable, but nothing special.
