Braudog (3461), Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates Apr 22, 2008 22 oz bottle -- Poured big and dark, cherry red, with a good, standing head. The aroma is moderate, hinting at cherry cough syrup. This is quite drinkable, despite the power in it, which is somewhat scary. A tad ashy, but otherwise a good delivery of dark fruit, roast malt, and moderate alcohol. (#3430, 4/22/2008)
BOLTZ7555 (402), Phoenix, Arizona, USA Jun 30, 2008 Bottle courtesy of polomagnifico...THANKS!!! Burnt orange color with an inch tall off-white head that receded into a small ring. The aroma is subtle candy sweetness. Taste of caramel, toasted marshmallow, and toffee. Not overly thin or thick...a decent brew. Linus_Stick (1459), Moon Township, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 29, 2008 Aroma was Ok. Caramel malt and a hint of toffee. Pour was a beautiful deep murky amber with a 2 finger tan head. Taste was a a nice subtle mix of caramel, toffee and roasted malt. Not much carbonation and a dark fruity aftertaste. bu11zeye (3573), Frisco, Texas, USA Jun 26, 2008 (22oz. bottle) Pours a cloudy amber body with a small beige head. Aroma of caramel, cherry, toffee, and toasted malt. Flavor of caramel malt, fruit cake, and mild hops. AmEricanbrew (805), Left Coast, Louisiana, USA Jun 12, 2008 Bottle. Foggy copper color with a tan head. Mild cotton candi and malty pit fruit aroma. Medium body with mild carbonation. Very smooth, easy drinking flavors of apple skins and pit fruits with a nicely bitter hop/alcohol tang to finish. Not bad but not too exciting either, like an evening at home with mom and pop. dyetube (366), Dallas, Texas, USA Jun 12, 2008 DFW Tasting 6/8/08 Thanks to Bu11zeye for sharing! This to me was a typical barlywine. Nothing different or outstanging. Cheers!
